Stranded Malaysians in Pakistan urged to contact High Commission

KUALA LUMPUR (Bernama): Malaysians stranded in Pakistan have been instructed to contact the Malaysian High Commission in Islamabad as soon as possible.

In an announcement on its Facebook page on Thursday (Feb 28), the High Commission asked those stranded to call the officer on duty at [phone].

"The exercise is for updating the High Commission's record on the presence of Malaysian citizens in Pakistan, as well as for providing consular services if needed,” it said.

Among the information required is their address in Pakistan and Malaysia, name and phone number of next of kin, and details of their postponed flight.

According to media reports, Pakistan has closed its airspace for the second day as tensions between Islamabad and New Delhi increased following military actions taken by the two countries.

Pakistani airspace was closed since Wednesday (Feb 27) to all commercial flights, causing the flights to either be cancelled or diverted. - Bernama
