Three Thais held for closing border gate


ALOR SETAR: Three Thais were remanded for four days after they were arrested for allegedly shutting a gate along the Bukit Kayu Hitam-Sadao border crossing in protest against stricter enforcement.

The suspects, believed to be part of a group of some 50 Thai motor taxi riders taking part in the protest, arrived at the Jitra magistrate’s court at about 8.35am in a police truck.
