Hadi Awang: Camerons result will determine extent of PAS-BN cooperation for Semenyih polls

KUALA TERENGGANU (Bernama): The result of the Cameron Highlands by-election will be used to determine the extent of cooperation between PAS and Barisan Nasional (BN) for the Semenyih polls.

PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang said so far, he was satisfied with the existing cooperation, but would review it after the Cameron Highlands by-election.

"It is very positive – anything that is negative we will not repeat.

"Whether we will continue the cooperation with BN, it will be measured by the Cameron Highlands by-election (result)," he said after opening a symposium on "Arts and Entertainment According to Islam" at the Kuala Terengganu Public Library here Saturday (Jan 26).

The Semenyih by-election will be held on March 2, with the nomination date fixed for Feb 16.

The by-election was declared following the death of its assemblyman Bakhtiar Mohd Nor on Jan 11.

It will be the fourth to be held in Selangor after GE14, with the following Sungai Kandis (Aug 4) and the Balakong and Seri Setia state seats (Sept 8). – Bernama
