PETALING JAYA: Starting January 1 next year, Urban Transformation Centre (UTC) facilities nationwide will have new operating hours.

UTCs in peninsular Malaysia and Sabah and Sarawak will open from 8am to 7pm daily. The previous closing hour for UTCs was 10pm.

Break time or Friday prayers will be from 12.15pm to 2.45pm for UTCs in peninsular Malaysia, while those in Sabah and Labuan will have their break hours from 11.30am to 2pm. As for Sarawak, Friday prayer breaks will be from 11.45am to 2pm.

These break hours only apply on Fridays.

UTCs are only closed on state and federal public holidays.

UTCs were an initiative by the previous government to put different government departments and agencies under one roof to improve service to the public.
