PETALING JAYA: Umno Youth’s Wan Muhammad Azri Wan Deris, better known as “Papagomo” has been released on police bail.
Selangor police chief Comm Datuk Mazlan Mansor said that Muhammad Azri was released on Monday (Dec 3).
“He was released after we had our second remand order application rejected,” Comm Mazlan said when contacted.
Muhammad Azri, a popular blogger, was detained on Thursday (Nov 29) to help in probe over a video that he posted that was deemed seditious, allegedly spread racial hatred and touched on religious sensitivities.
Comm Mazlan added that as of 8am on Monday, 68 people had been detained in connection with the recent riots over the Seafield Sri Maha Mariamman temple issue in USJ 25.
The temple, which is slated for relocation, became the scene of violent clashes between two groups on Nov 26, with the violence spilling over to the next day.
