Dr M has no knowledge of the King getting married

KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad says he has no knowledge of the purported marriage involving the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Muhammad V (pic) because he has no official confirmation of the matter.

“I don’t know. I don’t have any official confirmation so I can’t say anything,” Dr Mahathir told a press conference at the Parliament on Thursday (Nov 29) when asked about the wedding.

Speculation is rife that the 49-year-old Ruler has married former beauty queen Oksana Voevodina, 25, who was Miss Moscow in 2015.

The ceremony supposedly took place on Nov 22 in a concert hall in the Moscow suburb of Barvikha, after the Russian woman had converted to Islam.

The news has been spreading on social media and in some UK tabloids, but as of Thursday (Nov 29), Istana Negara has not issued any statement on the matter.
