JOHOR BARU: A five-year-old girl was killed after she was run over by a school van in front of her grandmother's house in Taman Tun Aminah here after a day at school.
The victim, identified as Janiss Yeoh Zi Xuan, died of severe head injuries soon after the incident which occurred at noon Wednesday (Oct 24).
Johor Baru (North) OCPD Asst Comm Mohd Taib Ahmad the 48-year-old driver has arrested to assist investigations.
It is learnt that the incident occurred when the girl ran in front of the vehicle after she was dropped off that day.
The driver rushed the girl to a nearby clinic before she was transferred to Hospital Sultanah Aminah, but she died soon after.
