PD polls: Saiful arrives at nomination centre, says can't wait to see Anwar

PORT DICKSON: Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan (pic), who was the former aide to PKR president-elect Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, has arrived at the nomination centre here, saying that he can't wait to meet his ex-boss.

"Well, I can't wait to see him inside. It's been a long time since I met him," he told reporters when met at the nomination centre on Saturday (Sept 29).

Earlier outside the nomination centre at the Port Dickson municipal council, both Anwar and Saiful shared an awkward moment when they briefly shook hands before entering the premises.

Saiful also said that he has moved on from the controversial Sodomy II case, saying that he will not raise the matter during the campaign period.

He said he will hold a fundraising for his campaign and maintained that he is an independent and is not back by any quarters to contest in the Oct 13 polls.

Asked on why he decided to contest the Port Dickson by-election instead of Seri Setia, Balakong and Sg Kandis, he said that it is because "I want to be in Parliament".

"I love PD. That is why I'm contesting here. I'm from PD and I'm raised in Seremban. My father was a former hotel manager at Seremban as well," he added.

The full candidate list for the Port Dickson polls will be announced after 10am when nomination closes.
