Two men seriously injured in Kota Kinabalu train accident


KOTA KINABALU: Two men were seriously injured after the Proton Preve they were travelling in collided with a train along Jalan Kepayan, near Petagas here. 

A spokesman from the Kota Kinabalu Fire and Rescue Department said a team of 12 firemen were despatched to the scene after a distress call was received at 1.18pm Wednesday (Sept 26).

"The vehicle was dragged for about 200m, along with the two victims inside. They were declared as seriously injured. 

"They have been sent to the nearest hospital for treatment.

"The operation ended at around 1.50pm," said the spokesman.

According to the spokesman, no further details about the victims have been received so far.

It is learnt that the car was heading to the main road, when it collided with the train in rainy weather.
