Johor Sultan furious over fake news about him urging people to avoid Pribumi

JOHOR BARU: Johor Ruler Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar is furious over fake news about him on social media asking people to avoid Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia.

His Majesty issued the statement on his official Facebook page on Tuesday (Aug 21) after a report entitled: "Sultan Johor urges everyone to stay away from PPBM" was widely shared.

The report was first carried by a news portal on April 17, but it is now making its round on social media.

Sultan Ibrahim decreed that only the Royal Press Office would issue statements or reports pertaining to His Majesty and the Johor royal family.

He also urged the police to take stern action against anyone who intentionally spread fake news or tarnished his name or the Johor royal family on social media.
