GMM to cease operations July 31

KOTA BARU: The Global Movement of Moderates Foundation (GMM) will cease operations on July 31.

Its executive chairman and CEO Datuk Dr Nasharudin Mat Isa said they have been given instructions to shut down operations.

According to Nasharudin, the instruction came from Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

"In complying with the directives given, the Foundation wishes to take this opportunity to extend its gratitude to all – individuals, institutions, CSOs, diplomatic missions and the media fraternity – for the support, as well as advocacy received throughout its existence in promoting the voices and agenda of moderation," he said in a statement Monday (July 30).
