Kit Siang: Anthony Loke is DAP parliamentary leader


PETALING JAYA: Transport Minister Anthony Loke Siew Fook has been officially appointed as DAP’s parliamentary leader for the 14th Dewan Rakyat sitting.

This was announced by DAP's Lim Kit Siang in a statement issued Wednesday (July 11).

According to Lim, the decision on Loke’s appointment was agreed upon by DAP’s Central Executive Committee (CEC).

"The CEC has decided that the DAP Parliamentary Leader in the 14th Parliament will be the DAP National Organising Secretary Anthony Loke.

“I will be a backbencher in Parliament for the first time since I was elected MP for Bandar Melaka in 1969,” he added.

The 14th Dewan Rakyat sessionwhich will convene on July 16 will be led by Pakatan Harapan for the first time in history.

The sitting will go on for 20 days.
