Ahmad Zahid: MACC has frozen HQ and Selangor Umno's bank accounts

JOHOR BARU: Umno vice president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has revealed that the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has frozen the bank accounts of its headquarters and Selangor branch.

Dr Ahmad Zahid, who is assuming the duties of Umno president, said that he received a call from the MACC notifying him that the accounts were now frozen.

"It is almost certain that after this, MACC will freeze Johor Umno's account as well," he said during in his speech during the state party Hari Raya gathering held here on Thursday (June 28).

Dr Ahmad Zahid also said that it was possible that Home Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin would order the Registrar of Society to deregister Umno soon.

He also said there is no guarantee that anyone who win the posts of Umno president, deputy president, supreme council members and vice-presidents in the coming polls will not be investigated by the MACC.
