PETALING JAYA: A 66-year-old chicken farmer died after he was shot three times at point blank range with a double barrel shotgun after an argument during a drinking session in Sitiawan, Perak.
According to the police report sighted by The Star, the incident happened at around 10.50pm on Friday (June 1) at the parking area outside a restaurant in Kampung Koh, Sitiawan.
Witnesses saw Chu Phan Hoo, 61, shoot Ling Lu King multiple times with the shotgun. Ling died while receiving treatment at Seri Manjung Hospital.
A 47-second video of the shooting, believed to be shot by onlookers at the restaurant, showed Ling lying helplessly on the ground.
The video shows Chu firing a shot at Ling while shouting at the victim. Chu then goes through Ling's trouser pocket and retrieves a gun before shooting him twice. He then walks away.
The police report said that Chu and Ling were drinking together and believed to have gotten into an argument. The cause of the argument is unknown.
Following a public tip-off, police managed to track down the suspect's vehicle at Simpang Dua, Sitiawan.
The report said that Chu allegedly shot himself dead.
Police seized both the double barrel shotgun and a semi-automatic pistol from Chu's vehicle.
