Police record Najib's statement over raids

KUALA LUMPUR: Police have recorded Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak's statement pertaining to the inspections and raids on three residential units at the Pavilion Residences here on May 18.

A police vehicle, believed to be carrying CID officers from the Dang Wangi Police Headquarters was seen leaving the former prime minister's residence in Langgak Duta at 1.40pm Wednesday (May 30) after being there for two hours.

Sources said that the police were initially scheduled to record the statement on Tuesday (May 29).

He said investigations were being done after Najib lodged a police report in Pekan, Pahang, recently, over the seizure of personal belongings and valuables during the police raids at the luxury residences.

On Tuesday, police recorded a statement from Najib's daughter Nooryana Najwa over the seizure of her personal belongings from one of the three units.

She had lodged a report against the police's action in inspecting and seizing several items, which she claimed were her wedding gifts.

Dang Wangi Police chief ACP Shaharudin Abdullah, confirmed that the police recorded Najib's statement at his residence here Wednesday.

Two vehicles believed to be carrying Najib's lawyers were also seen entering the compound of the residence at noon. – Bernama
