Ahmad Zahid: Barisan-friendly parties and NGOs fully behind us

BAGAN DATUK: Barisan Nasional-friendly parties and NGOs are fully behind the coalition to ensure a resounding victory in this general election, said Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi (pic).

The Barisan deputy chairman said the support of parties such as the Malaysian Indian Justice Party (MIJP) and NGOs nationwide will give Barisan the boost it needs.

"Despite not being full members of Barisan, these BN-friendly parties are working tirelessly together with us to ensure our victory.

"The same can be said about various NGOs nationwide," he said during a visit to MIJP headquarters in Bagan Datuk on Tuesday.

He said Barisan is colour blind in helping all Malaysians, regardless of their race or background.

"Malaysians from all walks of life must be taken care of. The Barisan manifesto covers all Malaysians," he said.

On the last day of campaigning, Dr Ahmad Zahid said now is the time to look forward.

"Let's leave the past behind as the deciding day is upon us.

"I want everyone to come out and vote," he said.

Dr Ahmad Zahid, who is defending the Bagan Datuk parliamentary seat, said Barisan will prevail with the support of its allies.

"Lies were also spread about me.

"Words on my banner, which were written in Telegu, was twisted because certain parties thought the words were in Bangladeshi or Nepalese.

"If you are not familiar with Telegu, don't insult the Telegu community," he said.
