PETALING JAYA: Ride-hailing service Grab is offering discounted rides to or from polling stations nationwide on voting day, May 9.

"Just go to the GrabRewards catalogue and for only 250 points, redeem RM5 off for one ride, valid for any verticals and payment method on May 9, 2018 only," said the firm in a statement on Thursday.

The discount is valid for all polling stations across the 25 cities nationwide that Grab's services are available.

It will also be available in two new cities – Lahad Datu and Sarikei – which will be welcoming Grab on May 2, 2018.

Grab country head Sean Goh said one of the things that matters most to them in Grab is "the voice of our Grabbers".

"Their feedback and opinions matter to us and we take great efforts to make everyone feel valued, appreciated and assured that their voice matters in shaping a company we can all be proud to be a part of.

"As such, we felt it was also imperative to remind our fellow Malaysians that their voice and vote matters in deciding the kind of Malaysia we want to live in," he added.

The Grab GE14 voter's kit, which includes one "Undi" T-shirt, a handheld "fan of democracy" and one promo code postcard with RM5 off two rides, can be redeemed via the app's GrabRewards catalogue from April 22 to 26, 2018, for only 3,000 GrabRewards points.

The Grab branded "Can't Spell Undi, without U & I" T-shirt can redeemed by itself for only 2,300 GrabRewards points
