Viral photo violates my privacy, says Dr Ramasamy

PETALING JAYA: Penang Deputy Chief Minister II Dr P. Ramasamy has condemned the person who took a photo of him while in hospital, saying that it had violated his privacy.

"I have reported the matter to the Island Hospital Penang authorities, and I think they are checking who took the snapshot as it had violated my privacy.

"If there is a need, I will make a police report," he said in a video on his Facebook page  Thursday (April 19).

A photo of Dr Ramasamy went viral on social media, with comments claiming that he was admitted to the hospital after suffering from election fatigue.

Dr Ramasamy clarified that he went to the hospital for a "routine medical check-up".

"This morning I went for a routine medical check-up at the Island Hospital Penang. During this check-up, I was put on a stretcher and at that time, someone took a snapshot of me lying on the stretcher," he said.

He added that he only realised that the photo went viral after he returned to his office.
