Party youth chief arrested after testing positive for drugs


PETALING JAYA: A 30-year-old Hulu Selangor youth chief has been arrested by the National Anti-Drugs Agency (AADK) after he tested positive for drugs.

The 30-year-old, who is a youth chief of an unnamed political party, was detained at his house at Batang Kali at 2.15pm on Tuesday (April 17)

According to Malay-daily Sinar Harian, the suspect was brought to the AADK's office in Hulu Selangor for an initial urine screening where he tested positive for methamphetamine use.

Hulu Selangor AADK officer Mohd Ghazali Abdul Rahman said the arrest was made after receiving a tip-off from the public.

The suspect will be remanded in the Kuala Kubu Bharu Sessions Court for 14 days from today (April 17) onwards.

"Nothing was confiscated and the suspect has no previous criminal record.

"The case will be investigated according to Drug Dependants (Treatment and Rehabilitation) Act 1983," he said. – Sinar Harian
