KUALA LUMPUR: Umno Youth has lodged a report over a video that showed a man removing Barisan Nasional flags in the Bukit Bintang area.
The 16-second video showed a man tearing down the flags which were placed along the sidewalk.
Bukit Bintang Umno Youth chief Jefree Zain Affendi called on the police to investigate the video, which he claimed has gone viral on social media.
"I feel that this is an act of provocation. I don't see any issue of putting the flags there. Even if he wanted to put flags from the Opposition parties next to ours, we wouldn't mind. Just don't damage them, and don't provoke us," he said.
At a press conference held in front of the Dang Wangi police station Tuesday (April 10) night, Jefree said that the flags were originally put up by his people.
A similar video that went viral earlier this week also resulted in several police reports lodged over the incident that happened in the TTDI area.
In the 41-second video, a man who appears agitated is seen removing Barisan flags and throwing them to the ground.
The man also swears and flashes a rude hand gesture to the person taking the video before continuing to remove the flags.
