KUALA LUMPUR: Meet the pride and joy of Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza and her husband Datuk Seri Khalid Mohamad Jiwa.
Siti Aafiyah Khalid was officially introduced to members of the media at the couple’s home in Bukit Antarabangsa last night.
She was shown to the public during the aqiqah and tahnik ceremony – religious observances held to celebrate and welcome the newborn.
“I thank God for answering my prayers throughout these 11 years, a prayer I’ve asked every day – to experience being a mother.
“The word Aafiyah is found in an ayat doa (prayer).
“And this ayat doa has been in my heart throughout my pregnancy,” said the singer who was all smiles during the ceremony.
She added “Aafiyah” means “everything that is good.”
The baby was born at 8.17am last Monday via caesarean section and weighed 3.55kg.
Siti Nurhaliza, 39, had posted on her official Instagram account a picture of her and Siti Aafiyah on Wednesday night.
The couple tied the knot in August 2006.
