The Chinese embassy in Kuala Lumpur is working with police to find He Yuting, who has been missing for two weeks.

PETALING JAYA: A professional shopper from China has been missing in Malaysia for the last two weeks.

The professional shopper, known as daigou in China, is 25-year-old He Yuting from the Sichuan province.

Her family says that she last spoke to them on Feb 22.

A daigou is a personal shopper who buys goods in foreign countries to take advantage of preferential prices.

It is learnt that He had frequently travelled to Malaysia since 2015 and last arrived here on Feb 7.

Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Mohamad Fuzi Harun confirmed the missing person's case and said that the police are doing everything possible to find He.

"We have taken all the proactive measures," he said when contacted on Wednesday (March 7) but declined to elaborate further.

It is believed that He has a boyfriend in Malaysia and usually stays with a female friend in Kuala Lumpur during her trips here.
