KUALA SELANGOR: Samples of an instant coffee mixture that allegedly caused a few people to be admitted to Penang Hospital have been taken by the Penang Health Department for analysis, says Datuk Seri Dr S. Subramaniam.
The Health Minister said he expected the results to be out soon and an announcement would be made on the matter.
"If it is found that the coffee mixture contains prohibited items, we will announce the brand name and its manufacturer will be ordered to withdraw the product from the market.
"So far, from reports received, five people have been admitted to Penang Hospital after drinking what was being promoted as a 'Durian White Coffee' mixture," he told a press conference after attending a Thaipusam celebration with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak at the Sri Subramaniar Swamy Temple here Wednesday.
Also present were Urban Well-being, Housing and Local Government Minister Tan Sri Noh Omar and Kuala Selangor MP Datuk Seri Dr Irmohizam Ibrahim. – Bernama
