Tanjung Bungah landslide: Three more bodies found

GEORGE TOWN: Another three victims of the landslide in Tanjung Bungah were retrieved from the site late last night and early Sunday, bringing the total number of victims found to six.

Among the three bodies were that of an Indonesian named Hosrin, who was found at about 11.30pm on Saturday, and that of his countryman Erwin who was found at 2.45am on Sunday.

The third body was found at about 4am Sunday but the authority has yet to release his identity.

A spokesman from the Fire and Rescue Department said a total of six bodies have been recovered as of 4am on Sunday at the construction site.

On Saturday, the bodies of Bangladeshis Hussin and Yunus, and Myanmar national Elyas were found between 9.55am and 1.10pm.

Fourteen workers were at the Tanjung Bungah construction site when tonnes of laterite earth came down from a cut slope about 10m high at about 8.30am on Saturday.
