PETALING JAYA: In conjunction with the 15th World Day against the Death Penalty, the Malaysian Bar has urged the government to abolish the mandatory death penalty for all crimes.
Bar president George Varughese acknowledged that de facto Law Minister Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said had approved the abolishment of the mandatory death penalty for drug-related offences in August this year.
