When Sultan Muhammad V ascended the throne as the 29th Sultan of Kelantan in 2010, celebrations were held throughout the state with the Ruler organising thanksgiving and prayer sessions.
The Ruler, who is known for his humble ways, insisted on being frugal and has toned down celebrations as his own way of cutting down on state expenditure.
