THE Agriculture and Agro-based Industry Ministry has rubbished allegations that local suppliers and traders had manipulated the grade of bird’s nest exported to China.

Deputy Minister Datuk Nogeh Gumbek said all bird’s nest processing plants had undergone a strict vetting and inspection process locally and had been approved by China.

“So far, 19 processing plants have received approval from China and another 17 are waiting inspection.

“It shows that the allegations that our bird’s nest do not meet international or China’s standard are baseless,” he said in reply to Datuk Johari Abdul (PKR-Sungai Petani).
