Headless and armless body of premature baby found near Kedah factory

SUNGAI PETANI: The headless and armless body of a 35-week-old baby girl believed to be prematurely born was found near a factory here on Sunday, said the police.

Kuala Muda district police chief Assistant Commissioner Md Zukir Md Isa said that the police received calls from the public on Sunday afternoon after the body was discovered near the factory in Batu Arang here.

"The initial investigation based on interviews and statements from the public showed that the body was surrounded by several dogs. The post-mortem conducted at the Hospital Sultanah Bahiyah showed that the child was dead for two days prior to the post-mortem," he said in a statement on Monday.

He added that police were also conducting an investigation to identify the child's parents.

"We also believe that this is a case concealment of birth by secret disposal of a dead body and are investigating the case under Section 318 of the Penal Code," said ACP Md Zukir
