MELAKA: Melaka Chief Minister Datuk Seri Idris Haron is deeply disturbed over the savage assault on 18-year-old student T. Nhaveen in Penang.
“I am really upset on what had happened to the boy. He has the right to live.
“I will pray for his recovery,” he said after holding a Ramadan charity and terawih prayers at his official residence in Seri Bendahara here yesterday.
“I was told that a 19-year-old inmate of a rehabilitation school was allegedly sodomised by three seniors in Jasin.
“This happened in my state and during the holy month of Ramadan. It is upsetting,” he added.
Idris said it was time for parents and stakeholders to instil noble and religious values to the younger generation.
He said Nhaveen’s and the Melaka bullying cases could have been avoided if society was taught to respect each other and had been taught the right religious values.
