PETALING JAYA: The Foreign Ministry has advised Malaysians residing near the site of the deadly blast in Manchester, England to remain vigilant and heed instructions by local authorities there.

In a statement issued on Tuesday morning, the ministry said it is closely monitoring the incident at Manchester Arena, where a blast at a concert by US singer Ariana Grande on Monday night left at least 19 dead and some 50 injured.

The ministry also advised those who may have been affected by the incident to report to the Malaysian High Commission in London at 45-46 Belgrave Square, London SW1X 8QT, contact +44 207 235 8033 or email mwlondon.kln@1govuc.gov.my

The ministry also conveyed its condolences to those who were affected by the incident.

Some 21,000 people were said to be at the concert when the blast happened. British police are treating the incident as a terrorist attack.

While Islamic State supporters have been celebrating the attack, no one has claimed responsibility yet.
