Lighting of candles heralds start of Wesak joy

GEORGE TOWN: It was a hive of activity at the Malaysian Buddhist Association here on the eve of Wesak Day.

Hundreds of devotees came to offer flowers but the highlight, of course, was the lighting ceremony of the lotus-shaped candles in front of the Buddha float.
