MALE victims will also be protected by the amendments to the Domestic Violence Act, said Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Rohani Abdul Karim.
Rohani said the changes to the law, which had the first reading in Parliament, would effectively protect anyone in a household who is abused. She pointed out that 26% of the 5,100 domestic violence cases reported in 2015 involved male victims.
