GEORGE TOWN: Six policemen from the Penang contingent received the Police Integrity Award during the 210th Police Day celebration this year.
They are Asst Supt Akmal Yahaya from George Town police district, Sjn Mejar Ismail Hashim, Kpl Mohd Rusli Abass from Central Seberang Prai police district and Kpl Wan Ahmad Nor Firman Abdul Hamed from South Seberang Prai police district.
Others who received the award yesterday from Penang deputy police chief Deputy Comm Datuk Roslee Chik were police department public officer Syaliza Saan and Nor Amalina Abd Majid from the state police headquarters.
During the celebration, a total of 88 policemen, auxiliary police personnel and community policing members were also given certificates of excellence for their services to the community.
Penang police were handed two cakes, courtesy of BSN and G Hotel, for the celebration.
Also present were state Crime Prevention and Community Safety Department chief Senior Asst Comm Datuk Abdul Rahman Ibrahim, state CID chief SAC Zainol Samah, state Management Department chief Asst Comm Zailan Tasir, state vice-chairman Datin Zainon Embong, Penang Police headquarters Perkep chief Datin Nik Hasnah Nik Yusof and Malaysian Crime Prevention Foundation Penang chairman Datuk Syed Jaafar Syed Ali.
