Shocked Sarawak YBs rush to Kuching


Puan Sri Jamilah Anu, the wife of the late Chief Minister Tan Sri Adenan Satem with Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Abang Johari Tun Openg at the Sarawak General Hospital in Kota Samarahan.

MIRI: Shocked and saddened state assemblymen are rushing to Kuching from all over Sarawak.

They heard news of Tan Sri Adenan Satem's death and are flying to Kuching on the next available flight.

SUPP secretary-general Datuk Sebastian Ting, who is state assemblyman for Piasau, near here, said the news was extremely shocking.

"Yes, I feel sad. It's so tragic. I am going to Kuching on the next flight," he said.

Kuching is some 800km from here.

Adenan died at 1,20pm Wednesday at the Sarawak General Hospital in Kota Samarahan.

He would have turned 73 on Jan 27.
