KUALA LUMPUR: Investigations will be carried out against those responsible for any wrongdoing in 1MDB, says Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
He said the PAC’s recommendations must be heeded and investigations must be carried out against those involved in any wrongdoing.
“If there is a case, then investigations have to be made against any individual running the organisation,” he told reporters in the Parliament lobby yesterday.
Earlier at a press conference, Dr Ahmad Zahid, who is also Home Minister, said authorities must evaluate the PAC report and investigate 1MDB’s former chief executive officer Datuk Shahrol Azral Ibrahim Halmi and others over their dealings.
He said the report, prepared by members across the political divide, also revealed there was no “hidden hand” behind the firm’s deals.
