PUTRAJAYA: Former prime minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad hopes suspended Umno deputy president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin (pic) will follow him out of the party.
"I hope so," he said when asked if the former deputy prime minister would also leave Umno.
Earlier, Dr Mahathir announced that he was quiting the party because it supported the actions of Umno president Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.Former Batu Kawan division vice-chairman Datuk Seri Kairuddin Abu Hassan, who was present at the press conference, announced that he too was leaving the party.
Khairuddin has lodged several police reports against 1MDB overseas.
