'Rubber Boy' is Petronas ad for CNY

KUALA LUMPUR: Petronas has unveiled its much-anticipated festive campaign with a fresh TV commercial for Chinese New Year titled Rubber Boy.

Rubber Boy tells the story of Ah Hock who learnt the values of sacrifice, gratitude and acceptance growing up in a rubber plantation, witnessing his mother’s devotion in providing for the family.

Petronas senior general manager of group strategic communications Zahariah Abdul Rahman said the company is proud to be able to bring this warm, enduring story that resonates in the hearts of all Malaysians.

“We intend to send out a strong message to count your blessings and reminding everyone about the significance of being Malaysian and appreciating our common values.

“Malaysians are uniquely known for our common values of togetherness amongst different generations, forgiveness for family and friends, and prudence in conducting personal lives.

“For the past two decades, Petronas festive communications have always urged Malaysians to remain rooted in these values and the inclusiveness of all races,” she added.

Viewers may log on to the official brand channel at www.petronasofficial.com to view the five-minute webfilm. The 90-second TV commercial will be aired from Feb 4 onwards.
