Sabah quake: Four westerners remanded over stripping on Mt Kinabalu


KOTA KINABALU: Two Canadian siblings, a Dutch and a Briton were ordered to be remanded by a Magistrate's court for four days for allegedly stripping on top of Mount Kinabalu on May 30.

They were produced before Ranau magistrate Dzul Elmy at about 10.30am Wednesday and an order was issued for their remand to be extended to facilitate further investigations under Section 294(a) of the Penal Code for indecent behaviour.

Handcuffed and dressed in purple lock-up uniforms, the suspects were taken out of the court lock-up at about 11.10am to the Karamunsing police station.

The siblings and the Dutch surrendered themselves at the Karamunsing police station here at about 6pm on Tuesday while the Briton was arrested in Tawau the same day.
