Mat Malaya remanded for a week

KOTA KINABALU: Captured fugitive Mat Malaya (pic), who was wanted in connection with the shooting of a mechanic, has been remanded for a week by the magistrate’s court here.

The court, however, turned down a police application to further remand his 24-year-old wife who was arrested along with their two-month old daughter while hiding out in a homestay at the foothills of Mount Kinabalu, about 95km from here on Monday night.
