Four new envoys receive credentials from King

New appointment: The King handing over the appointment letter of Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR: Four new ambassadors received their credentials from the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah, at Istana Negara.

They are Datuk Zulkifli Adnan (Germany), Datuk Adnan Othman (Austria), Ahmad Rozian Abd Ghani (Kuwait) and Mohamad Nizan Mohamad (North Korea).

Zulkifli has been with Wisma Putra since 1983. He has served as director-general of Maritime Department since 2011 and prior to that, he was ambassador to Bosnia-Herzegovina between 2008 and 2011.

Adnan started his career at the ministry in 1984. He was previously ambassador to Kuwait and Cambodia.

Ahmad Rozian, who served in Wisma Putra since 1994, has held several important positions. Prior to his appointment as ambassador, he was the Consul-General in Medan, Indonesia, from 2012.

He was deputy director-general of Policy Planning and Strategic Department and undersecretary of Department of Information and Public Diplomacy.

Mohamad Nizan joined the ministry in 1994. He was the deputy head of mission in Bangkok before being made an ambassador.

He has served in Zimbabwe, Canada and Laos.
