Sirul calls back after two hours

KUALA LUMPUR: Former police commando Sirul Azhar Umar (pic), convicted of the murder of Mongolian model Altantuya Shaariibuu, surprisingly returned PAS information chief Datuk Mahfuz Omar’s call two hours after the scheduled teleconference.

In a three-minute conversation with the Pokok Sena MP, the man believed to be Sirul at the end of the line sounded composed, while describing his situation at the Australian Immigration detention centre in Sydney as “comfortable and safe”.
