Mother finds daughter hanged in toilet

AMPANG JAYA: A woman received a shock when she found her 33-year-old daughter dead, allegedly after she hanged herself in the toilet of their house in Bandar Baru Ampang here.

Ampang Jaya OCPD Asst Comm Khairuldin Saad said the woman, was found dead in the toilet by her mother at about 8.45am Monday.

"Her mother was wondering why she was in the toilet for so long, and she then peeped through the window.

"She was shocked to find that her daughter had hanged herself," he told The Star.

ACP Khairuldin said the mother then called the police.

He added that the woman was living with her parents and two other siblings and had been jobless for two months.

ACP Khairuldin said according to the parents, the woman had been depressed lately after she quit her job at a pub on Jalan Bukit Bintang about two months ago.

The body of the woman was sent to the University Kebangsaan Malaysia Hospital for a post-mortem.

ACP Khairuldin said that police believed that there were no criminal elements involved and the case has been classified as sudden death.
