Alvin Tan to Zahid Hamidi: Just do it

PETALING JAYA: Sex blogger Alvin Tan has dared the Home Minister to revoke his passport as announced by the latter.

"Just do it," wrote Alvin in a caps-locked and profanity-laden Facebook post on Sunday, hours after Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi was quoted as saying Tan's passport was government property and "can be revoked as early as tomorrow (Monday)."

"Don't just threaten...don't be a cowardly....," he wrote.

Zahid had said the Home Ministry will be revoking Tan's passport under the Immigration Act.

The move came after Tan had questioned, via Facebook, the revocation of the Datuk Seri award of Opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim by the Selangor Sultan.

Tan is now residing in the United States where he is seeking political asylum after jumping bail in Malaysia.

Tan, 26, and his co-blogger Vivian Lee, 25, claimed trial last year to three charges under the Film Censorship Act, Sedition Act and the Penal Code.

Both still face two charges under the Film Censorship Act and Sedition Act for a “Ramadan greeting” that was posted on their blog last year.
