Fully electronic toll collection at Batu Tiga, Sungai Rasau plazas from Nov 22

KUALA LUMPUR: Cash payments will no longer be accepted at the Batu Tiga and Sungai Rasau PLUS toll plazas from noon Nov 22.

In a statement Monday, the Malaysian Highway Authority (MHA) said road users would have to use the PlusMiles or Touch 'n Go cards or SmartTag to pass through these plazas.

MHA said that as an incentive, PLUS was offering a 30% rebate on toll rates from Sept 1 to Dec 31 during non-peak periods from 10am to 3.54pm, and 10pm to 5.59am.

A 10% rebate would also be given from 6am to 9.59am and from 4pm to 9.59pm, it added.

The rebate is offered to users of Class One vehicles who use electronic payment methods at the two toll plazas.

MHA said it had prepared one million PlusMiles cards to be sold at a promotional price of RM5 each with a pre-paid value of RM5.

These can be obtained at the reload lanes and customer service centres at the two toll plazas, it added.

Another 100,000 SmartTag units at the promotional price of RM99 each, compared to the actual price of RM120, would be sold to those who reload their cards for RM30 there, it said.

Enquiries can be addressed to the MHA Traffic Centre at 1-800-88-7752 or PLUS at 1-800-88-0000. - Bernama
