CYBERJAYA: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak called on Malaysians to cultivate a culture of “to dare to succeed” despite failed attempts in life.
“Great success starts with an idea. Follow your ideas and have the passion to succeed without worrying about failure,” he said, urging the nation’s youths to become entrepreneurs who create jobs rather than merely being job seekers to bring the country to high-income status.
He said a recent study found a low inclination among Malaysians to become entrepreneurs.
“When students graduate, the first thing many would do is to look for jobs.
“But if you are an entrepreneur, you do not look for jobs. You are an individual who is also a creator of jobs,” Najib at the launch of the Gabungan Rakan Entrepreneur Aspirasi Terhebat (GREAT) movement here yesterday.
GREAT 2014 is a platform for aspiring entrepreneurs to interact with one another as well as to meet established entrepreneurs and potential investors.
Some 6,000 participants are expected to attend the four-day event, which began yesterday at the Malaysian Global Innovation and Creativity Centre (MaGIC) here.
