LAHAD DATU: A notorious squatter settlement was raided in a pre-dawn operation where 925 people were detained amid a decision by the local council to demolish the illegal houses in the area.

The eight-hour operation that began at 2.30am Saturday, under Ops Gasak comes two days after police launched a massive air and sea hunt for three suspected intruders in the waters of Semporna that borders Lahad Datu and Kunak districts in the east coast.
