Comedian Maidin Ibrahim passes away at 76

PETALING JAYA: Popular comedian Maidin Ibrahim (pic), 76, passed away in his residence at Pokok Tai in Gurun,Kedah at around 2pm on Wednesday.

According to mStar Online, the news was verified by his son-in-law Mohd Saiful Nizam Saari.

“I would like to confirm that my father-in-law passed away today during Solat at around 2pm,” he said.

The late Maidin will be buried at the Pokok Tai Muslim Cemetery after Isyak, which is after 8.39pm, today.

Maidin leaves behind a wife and five children, one son and four daughters, aged between 32 to 45-years-old.

Maidin started his entertainment career in 1950 when he joined a Boria group in his village at Bagan Lalang in Butterworth. 

He was popular in movies like Anak Mami and the sitcom Salam Pantai Timur.
