Fire ravages Sabah squatter colony, 429 lose homes


The fire that swept through a squatter colony where the houses were built close to each other.

KOTA KINABALU: More than 429 people were made homeless when a midday fire swept through a squatter colony in the northern Kudat district, about 160km from the city on Tuesday.

Sabah Fire and Rescue Services Department public relations officer Affendy Ramin said 67 wooden houses were destroyed in the 1.45pm blaze.
