MAS flight bound for Bangalore makes turn back

PETALING JAYA: A Malaysia Airlines (MAS) flight bound for Bengaluru (Bangalore) in India has made a turn back to Kuala Lumpur.

In a tweet posted by MAS at 12.39am, it said flight MH192 had departed from the Kuala Lumpur International Airport at 10.09pm on Sunday.

“[#MASalert] Flight MH192 that departed from KUL at 10.09pm bound for Bangalore has made an air turn back towards KUL. More details to follow,” tweeted @MAS at 12.39am on Monday.

MAS tweeted that more details were to follow.

A search on real-time flight tracker website Flightradar24.com revealed that the Boeing 737-8H6, which departed Kuala Lumpur at 10.10pm, was still midair at 1.15am.

The plane was flying at 7000 feet off the Straits of Malacca, close to Pulau Lumut.
