KUALA LUMPUR: Finding out the truth about what happened to Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 is more important the "who gets custody of the black box," said Acting Transport Minister Datuk Seri Hishamuddin Tun Hussein.

‎"I don't think it is important who gets custody as far as I'm concerned and this is my own personal position.

"It is finding out the truth," he told a press conference on Tuesday.

He was asked on how important it is for Malaysia to get custody of the black box and whether its full contents would be revealed.

"And if we want to find out the truth, definitely you have to reveal what's in the black box there is no question," he said.

Hishammuddin also clarified his comments made about Attorney-General Tan Sri Abdul Gani Patail being in London "to discuss the custody of the black box.‎"

"Basically the issue related to the AG when he was in London, the question posted in relation to MH370, I said I'm sure that will be something he would be discussing with some of his counterparts in London‎.

"As far as the AG is concerned, the Cabinet has actually directed that he looks at ‎all the legal implications, whether it is ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organisation) practice or whether it is a challenge which involves diplomacy as you must understand it involves 40 nations‎," he said.

"That is why we have established these communities so that these responsibilities can be divided amongst those who have the opportunity to get the best expert advice and the AG is no different.

"There is no exception when it comes to his responsibility in looking at the legal aspects of MH370," he added.
